The music on this page is Hoobastank--Same Direction. My buddy, Aaron, had made a mp3 compilation for me. I played it as I was headed out to map some trails for my book...I thought it was funny that "Same Direction" was the first song on the list. I was rocking out...nearly drove off the road.

Aspen Corridor Red Rock ride. The first week in Oct is usually when it looks like this.

Dawn til Dusk switchbacks--the D2D race in april goes down these. Sometimes the southwest gets hit with sudden flash flood storms. Check out this video by the publisher of Dirt Rag Magazine, Maurice Tierney, when he came to Gallup in late Sept.--we rode this switchback in the downpour and there was an instant waterfall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtPQm0CB_Sw

This photo was taken on the High Desert trail (Dawn Til Dusk race course) by Maurice Tierney. It is one of the coolest photos of me, for I am usually not the subject of photos.

Orin K. jammin his Single-Speed bike, Betsy, up the Red Rocks.

This is what happens when you let your bike mechanic friend get ahold of your old bike and say: "fix it up Singlespeed any way you want" ... Meet Betsy !

As I sit a top the White Cliffs view, I wonder where all the motorist on I-40 are traveling and if THEY are wondering if there is mountain biking in the hills that they pass through Gallup--but of course!
